About me
Yang Feng's paintings as a singular body of work are universally considered to be among the elite echelon of a small group of Chinese contemporary artists who have uniquely mastered the combination of East & West techniques.
Original and creative, in both expressive and abstract styles, Yang's art works are richly presented through a balanced, dynamic fusion of the underlying traditional texture of Chinese watercolor and ink paintings that are toned to completion with a combination of the deep, inspired colors and mixed media of Western oil paintings.
Born in Tianjin, China in 1958, Yang Feng discovered his inner passion for painting when he was still a teenager. While he was studying in the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China, he was inspired and influenced by Western painters of various historical periods while he perfected and enriched his traditional Chinese and Western oil painting techniques. He then spent 10 years in Japan and studied art at Kobe University, where he further developed and gradually transformed his unique personal style. Yang' s emergence as one of the most original and creative painters on the international contemporary art scene derives from his inspired cultural background and artistic experience carefully articulated through the crafted prism of refined East/West visual techniques. In 2001, he received outstanding talent and settled in the United States. In 2016, he won the Hollywood Golden Key Award.
Mr. Yang has held seventeen solo exhibitions in China, Japan and the United States, where he has received numerous prizes and has proven a profoundly attractive artistic spirit to the most prominent collectors. He is also an honored member of the Pasadena Artists Association and the Chinese Painting & Calligraphy Society.
